The box-type substation is the main direction of the current rural network transformation and the future construction of substations, but there are still some deficiencies in some aspects, specifically:
(1) Fireproof problem: The box-type transformer substation is normally fully unattended. Although all the equipment is running without oil and is equipped with a remote smoke alarm system, there are still fire hazards in the cabinet, such as: cables, compensation capacitors, etc. Unexpected fires are not conducive to ventilation and are not conducive to fire fighting. Therefore, the design of automatic fire extinguishing systems should be considered, but this will increase the manufacturing costs of box substations.
(2) Capacity expansion: Box substations are limited by the volume and manufacturing cost, and the margin of expansion of the outgoing line interval is small. If it is difficult to add 1 to 2 outgoing line intervals in the original box, it is necessary to add additional boxes. Do it.
(3) Overhaul problem: As the box substations are manufactured with consideration of the manufacturing cost and the volume of the cabinet, the maintenance space of the box substation is relatively small, which is not conducive to equipment overhaul, especially accident repair. This is a congenital deficiency of the box substation. It is an insurmountable disadvantage.
